They are written in Swift, a programming language designed by Apple itself.

Swift playgrounds 4.0 has a built-in App project. Students can write code, use the SwiftUI framework for visual design, and import the built-in API of the iOS SDK to assemble their own App. Finally, submit to the App Store directly from the IPad.
